What you need to know about spiritual hygiene
I hope you have been enjoying the longer days, the warmer breeze and the beauty that surrounds us as mother Earth wakes up from her slumber!
I have been super busy traveling throughout the Yukon and I love it! in the next few weeks I will have the honor of facilitating other group events.
Today I want to tell you about spiritual hygiene. It is not like taking your daily shower but more about protecting your energetic boundaries so that you can feel refreshed and more like yourself.
What is spiritual hygiene?
It refers to proactively maintaining your energy body, being mindful of how the energy of other people and places affect you and taking steps to manage it every day.
These are some ways to practice spiritual hygiene:
Smudging yourself after visiting a hospital, a bar or anywhere you feel energy might be dense.
Smudging second hand items you buy before wearing them or brining them into your home.
Taking a salt bath with baking soda after experiencing a challenging day
Wearing protective crystals such as obsidian, tourmaline, clear quartz, amethyst etc.
Using auric sprays, essential oils etc. or other methods to shift your energy.
Receiving an energetic clearing from a trained practitioner.
Stablishing boundaries with your phone use, being mindful of accounts you follow, the shows you watch, the music you listen to, everything has its own vibration.
Watching how you feel after interacting with people, some people are energy vampires, I know it sounds funny, but there are certain individuals that can leave you feeling drained. Christiane Northup has a really good book about this subject called: Dodging Energy Vampires.
If you attend plant medicine ceremonies, making sure you are working with ethical practitioners that can keep you safe while you journey and are vulnerable to intrusive energies.
Remember: “Nothing that hides in the dark has any real power of its own” – Alberto Villoldo
