Biohacking + Using Adaptogens for Focus & Anxiety

Have you ever come across the term “Biohacking”? According to Forbes Magazine: Biohacking is a term used to describe various tips and tricks for enhancing the body’s ability to function at peak performance—and maybe even extend one’s lifespan.

During my training as a Registered Health & Nutrition Counselor, I was introduced to the concept of using Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs and Mushrooms to radically improve one’s health.

There is so much information out there about supplements that it can be a bit overwhelming, it is nice to have someone who understands interactions, your health history and create a balanced plan for your unique needs.

I believe there is a plant or natural remedy for most human ailments. Lately, I have been using adaptogenic mushrooms to help balance my mood and increase a sense of peace and calm. It has become my morning ritual to add half a teaspoon of a dried mushroom mix to my coffee (decaf) or a hot chocolate.

I felt so good this morning! I wanted to share with you some info about my experience.

These are mushrooms you can get from your local health store not “magic” mushrooms!

SOME OF MY FAVORITE MUSHROOMS ARE:

Lion’s Mane:

According to Very Well Health, some of benefits of this mushroom include protecting against dementia, relieving symptoms of depression, promoting faster nerve cell recovery, protecting against stomach ulcers, reducing inflammation, and supporting the immune system.

Reishi:

It has over 400 different bioactive compounds potential effects including improving your immune system, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-diabetic, and anti-oxidative. I love to take it when I feel I am getting a cold!

Turkey Tail:

Has been used for centuries and is believed to be helpful in the prevention of certain cancers such as a colon and breast as well as promoting gut health.

Chaga:

It is one of the most known mushrooms out there, it has multiple benefits including improving immune function, antioxidant, reducing inflammation and promoting a balanced mood.

Ashwagandha:

I also use regularly other adaptogens not only mushrooms, such as Ashwagandha which is part of the Indian Ayurveda system. It helps to relieve stress, anxiety and sharpens mental focus. I usually add a little bit to my fruit smoothies.

If you are curious about ways to improve your energy levels, digestion, pain and aches, insomnia and other day to day conditions, consider having a holistic health consultation with me, I’d love to share with you what I have learned along my journey!
