Spring Rituals – Ways to Bring Ceremony Into Your Life + Plant Oracle

I am so thrilled to feel that Spring is in the air, as days get longer and snow starts melting allow yourself to flow with the rhythm of nature. This is a time of renewal of returning to a more energy filled state as we approach the warmer months.

Spring is an excellent opportunity to declutter and to try a mild detox for both your home and your body, switching to lighter foods as we live the cold season behind.

Here is are some Spring ritual ideas:

Create a spring-inspired altar. you can include pink, yellow or green candles.

Spring time can be a time of inspiration as plants start coming back to life and animals start to return. You can place a bowl of water, fresh flowers like tulips, seeds or anything that feels Springy. Crystals like selenite and malachite are excellent to add for a cleansing effect, to manifest your intentions, and to represent mother earth on your altar.

Spring clean your sacred space, your home, your altar. Dust, mop, donate old clothing that you no longer use or enjoy to clear away stagnant energy to make it easy to energy to flow.

Connect with nature; go for walks, open the windows, starting planting your seeds if you grow food outside.

Burn Sweetgrass, Lavender, or White Sage. When you use sacred smoke and with your intention to cleansing and release, it can really uplift your space and your spirit.

Sometimes you can find yourself feeling stuck or in need of guidance. Life can bring so many unexpected changes. Could be in the form of a move, end of a relationship, a deep search for the meaning of life or wanting to switch careers.

What is the Plant Oracle?

During times of unpredictability it is a great blessing to connect to higher wisdom. One of my favorite ways of receiving insight is the plant oracle or leaf reading.

From times immemorial people have used different forms of divination to look for guidance and advice.

The shamans from the Inca nation in Peru use coca leaves for asking for messages from the divine and Mother Earth, Pachamama.

It is a beautiful process in which the leaves themselves act as an oracle. I find it fascinating as you don’t have the symbols usually found on the Tarot or oracle cards but the guidance comes in the shape of thoughts, images and sensations.

As we live in North America, I don’t have access to coca leaves so I use bay leaves. The sessions are very deep and insightful. You will receive 3 throws: presenting issue, things to look out for and the possible future.

The plant oracle is used in times of need and is approached with reverence, it is not something you read every week for example.
